A dim sum feast

Chris had recommended that we try dim sum at his favourite dim sum house. It is literally around the corner from Chris's flat and about 5 minutes walk from mine. Sheung Wan is the next district along from mine towards central. We walked up to the 3rd floor and entred which was a manic and a much more local dim sum house. It was mental. There were tanks and tanks of fish and sorts with a continuos high buzz of chatter. We were seated and handed a sort of English menu. They didn't really speak any english at this place but that was fine as I always feel bad that everyone talks to us in English. This certainly was a day for the phrase book which we had forgotten to pick up, so we muddled through and ordered a selection of dishes. As they came one after another the table began to get fuller and fuller. All of a sudden we were faced with feast fit for kings. When looking around there were tables of 5-7 business men with only half of what we had ordered. Oopps! It was such a funny meal, we were trying to eat at much as we could as to not offend the restaurant. If you dont eat enough they think that you dont like it but if you eat to much they think they haven't filled you! So very complex, but I think we managed to get an okay balance of "we are finished". We had this sweap of panic as we realised once asking for the bill that we didnt even see any of the prices of what we had ordered! Somehow we managed to walk out with only a £24 bill. Amazing!
